Thank you for visiting Wine Camp. I created Wine Camp to promote the discussion of terroir driven wines in a points free environment. I believe the current addiction to the 100 point scale pulls many consumers away from wines with grace, complexity and a true sense of place. Here you will find no rankings and all of the wines in my wine notes are recommended. The only exception you’ll find is if I think a particular brand is a consumer rip-off that needs exposing as in this post.

All that water sprayed seems like such a waste when compared to drip irrigation.

Without a doubt, but the trade off is you get frost protection, which can be very important for a valley floor vineyard like this one.

This is really a waste of water.
To get a good frost protection and save water, one can use a method extensively used in SA, of Vibro-Spreaders inserted directly to the laterals.
The method is explained in this webpage - link:

Existing driplines may also be upgraded to use the Vibro-Spreaders.
